Shaded rows are our picks. Assumed load: A tailgate setup: a 100W TV, a 180W slow cooker and a 20W speaker, 300W in total, with a 1,000W burst when a blender runs.
Size it from a list
Start with what you plan to plug in. Our list is a 100W TV, a 180W slow cooker on low, and a 20W speaker. Together they pull 300 watts for as long as they are on.
A watt-hour counts energy: one watt, used for one hour. A 5-hour tailgate at 300W uses 1,500 watt-hours at the devices. The battery has to hold more than that, because some energy is lost on the way out.
Your list will differ. The watts are printed on a label on the back of the TV and the bottom of the cooker. Add them up, then multiply by the hours.
The blender is the test
Our list also has a blender for drinks. It runs for a minute or less, but it pulls about 1,000W while it does. The energy is tiny. One minute at 1,000W is about 17 watt-hours. The problem is the burst.
Output is how much power a station can give at one moment. Think of a doorway. Capacity is how many people are in the building. Output is how many can walk out side by side.
Three of the four small units put out 300W, with a 600W surge rating. They cannot start the blender, so they are out. The 600W River 3 Plus can, but it lasts 0.8 hours. The 768Wh AC70 lasts 2.2 hours, and its 1,000W output is the same as the blender’s burst, which leaves no room for the TV and cooker on top. Every pick here puts out 2,000W or more.
Hours per model
In our math, a station delivers 85% of its energy through the AC outlet. The rest is lost in the inverter, the part that turns battery power into household AC.
With the full list running, the 1,000Wh class gives 2.9 to 3.0 hours. The 2,000Wh class gives 5.8 to 5.9 hours. That is the smallest size that covers a 5-hour tailgate. The two largest models give 10.9 and 11.6 hours, but they weigh 132.3 lb and 113.5 lb.
Extra gear cuts the hours. A plug-in thermoelectric cooler adds about 50W. That takes a 2,000Wh unit from 5.8 hours down to about 5. The electric cooler guide covers that load by itself.
Drop the slow cooker and the hours more than double
The slow cooker is 180W of the 300W. Anything that makes heat is the big item on a battery.
Without it, the TV and speaker pull 120W. A 1,024Wh unit then lasts about 7 hours, up from 2.9. A 2,000Wh unit lasts more than 14.
You can still have hot food. Cook it at home and bring it in an insulated carrier, or run the cooker for only part of the day. Two hours of the cooker adds 360Wh at the devices. The slow cooker guide has the hours for a cooker by itself.
Why not a gas generator
A gas generator can be refuelled on the spot. A power station has two advantages in a parking lot. It makes no fumes, so it can sit under the canopy next to the food. And it makes no engine noise, so you can hear the game.
The limit is that it cannot be refilled quickly on site. Charge it to full at home the night before. The Delta 3 Max lists 68 minutes to reach 80% from a wall outlet.
Check the lot’s rules
Parking lot rules vary. Some venues limit what you can run or how much space one car can take up. Read your venue’s tailgating rules before you buy for a specific lot.
The picks in detail
EcoFlow Delta 3 Max
- 5.8 hr
- Tailgate setup
- $879
- $0.43 per Wh
- 44.8 lb
- Weight
It runs the full list for 5.8 hours, enough for a 5-hour tailgate with the slow cooker on the whole time. At $879 it is the lowest price in the 2,000Wh class, or $0.43 per watt-hour. Its 2,400W output handles the blender's 1,000W burst with everything else still running. The downside is weight. At 44.8 lb, it is a lift from the trunk to the table, not a carry across the lot.
What fits
- 5.8 hours with the slow cooker on
- $879, the lowest price in its class
- 2,400W output
What does not
- 44.8 lb
- 5.3 lb heavier than the Jackery Explorer 2000 v2
EcoFlow's list price is $1,199. The Delta 3 Max Plus is a separate, pricier model.
Jackery Explorer 2000 v2
- 5.8 hr
- Tailgate setup
- $899
- $0.44 per Wh
- 39.5 lb
- Weight
This gives the same 5.8 hours at 39.5 lb, the lightest of the 2,000Wh class and 5.3 lb less than the Delta 3 Max. That matters if you park far from your spot. It costs $899, which is $20 more. Its 2,200W output covers the blender's burst with room left. Jackery's list price is $999, and it rates its 4,000 cycles to 70% capacity, not 80%.
What fits
- 39.5 lb, the lightest 2,000Wh unit
- 5.8 hours with the slow cooker on
What does not
- $20 more than the Delta 3 Max
- Cycle life is rated to 70% capacity
Jackery's list price is $999. Jackery rates its 4,000 cycles to 70% capacity, not 80%.
Anker Solix C1000 Gen 2
- 2.9 hr
- Tailgate setup
- $499.99
- $0.49 per Wh
- 24.9 lb
- Weight
With the full list it runs 2.9 hours, which is not a whole tailgate. Leave the slow cooker at home and the same battery lasts about 7 hours. Its 2,000W output is the most in the 1,000Wh class, so the blender's burst uses half of it. At 24.9 lb it is far easier to carry than the 2,000Wh units. It costs $499.99, or $0.49 per watt-hour.
What fits
- About 7 hours for a TV and speaker
- 2,000W output
- 24.9 lb
What does not
- Only 2.9 hours with the slow cooker on
- The Bluetti Elite 100 V2 gives the same 2.9 hours for $11 less
Anker's list price is $599.99. It has sold for under $430 at other retailers.
Verdict
Buy the EcoFlow Delta 3 Max if you want the TV, slow cooker and speaker running for a full 5-hour tailgate. Choose the Jackery Explorer 2000 v2 if you carry the station any distance and 5.3 lb matters to you. Pick the Anker Solix C1000 Gen 2 if you can skip the slow cooker. It costs $379 less than the Delta 3 Max and weighs 19.9 lb less. Skip the 300W units, which cannot start the blender. Check your parking lot's rules before game day.
How these numbers were worked out. Runtime = battery capacity × efficiency ÷ average watts. We use 85% efficiency for AC outlets and 90% for DC and USB ports, because some energy is lost as heat on the way out. A model is marked "can't run it" when the device needs more watts than the outlet gives, or a bigger startup surge than the unit is rated for. Your own device may draw more or less than our assumed load, so treat these as estimates. Prices were checked on 2026-10-04 and change often. Full method
